Jenkintown, PA 19046

Final Farewell was formed by Patricia A. Quinn to help grieving families through the financial hardship of the loss of a child.  Mrs. Quinn became a funeral director in 2000 to aid in running a family business.  Her husband, Mr. Thomas J. Quinn, the President of Final Farewell, is a third generation funeral director in an economically challenged area in Philadelphia.  The family business dates back to 1928.

Through their funeral work, the Quinn's were often confronted with grieving, poor families who could not afford even the minimal burial and funeral expenses.  They were troubled by the distress of the families and wanted to alleviate the economic hardship of funeral cost to relieve some of the distress.

Mr. and Mrs. Quinn formulated the charitable mission for Final Farewell several years ago, while listening to a local radio station that was conducting its annual fundraiser for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia ("CHOP").  Through its fundraising and provision of charity care, CHOP provides money for research and health care for critically ill children.  Mr. and Mrs. Quinn determined to provide assistance to CHOP families that it serves by providing a full-service funeral to a family whose child did not survive an illness.  By placing calls to their vendors, the Quinn's identified others willing to donate funeral and burial-related services.  With the donated services, the Quinn's were able to help 1-3 families per year
The Quinn's decided to incorporate and seek charitable exemption for Final Farewell so that they could seek additional charitable contributions and significantly expand their charitable mission to many families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
